Here's How Sony Plans To Share The Spider-Man PS4 Story As A Movie

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is being marketed as an interactive animated film experience with a lot of time spent on gameplay. It still appears that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are intent on pitching the film to both gamers and more casual moviegoers, so it will be interesting to see how well the two groups react to the movie.

Spotted in a handful of different shots throughout this new Throughout the Spider-Verse trailer, Insomniac Games' own unique take on Spider-Man can be seen. It's a bit difficult to make out, this iteration of Spider is easily identifiable thanks to the unique white spider that appears on the front and back of the Advanced Fit.

The first complete trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse lastly struck the web this early morning, and it confirmed that PlayStation's version of the Web-Slinger from the Marvel's Spider-Man video game series will be appearing in the movie. Similar to the previous film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Throughout the Spider-Verse is set to include a variety of different Spiders from alternate universes. And while this trailer consists of dozens of different versions of the character, PlayStation's take on Spider-Man happens to also make a number of looks.

In the meantime, the one thing we know with certainty is that Spider-Man: Throughout the Spider-Verse is set to hit theaters next year on June 2, 2023. As for Marvel's Spider-Man, the highly-anticipated PS5 follow up is likewise currently slated to go for some point in 2023.


Although the Marvel's Spider-Man version of Spider has now been confirmed for Across the Spider-Verse, it stays to be seen how integral he may be to the film. With numerous variations of Spider-Man set to appear in the Spider-Verse follow up, it stands to reason that not all of them will get substantial screen time. Still, given how popular Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales have been over the past couple of years on PS4 and PS5, maybe there's an opportunity that Yuri Orenthal, who depicts Peter Parker in the computer game series, might have a small role of some sort in the movie.
