Luitz leads German mini
Stefan Luitz introduces the German squad at the first Alpine World Cup at the weekend in Sölden. Next to the Oberallgäuer go to the men s Alexander Schmid and Julian Smoke foot at the start as the DSV announced on Tuesday. Andrea Filser and Marlene Schmotz want to attack the traditional winter prelude in the Ötztal for the women.
I m looking forward to the kick-off and wants to ski well with full commitment, attack and self-confidence, said Luitz, who was last year as the 14th best German in Sölden. The preparation in summer had been good.
The German ski trucks hope at the Rettenbach Glacier to a better result than in the previous year, when the Italian Marta Bassino victory could not drive a DSV athlete under the best 30. Currently the skiing makes me great fun and correspondingly high is the motivation, said Filser.
In Sölden, women s giant slaloms are on Saturday (10am / 13:15) and the men on Sunday (10.00 / 13.30 clock). In contrast to the pandemie-related ghost race from the previous year, up to 9000 fans are expected this year.
